What Is Black Friday?

Our US neighbours have given us many things – the sitcom that never gets old AKA Friends, Starbucks iced frappuccinos and an addiction to Glossier’s Haloscope but one of our most recent favourite imports is the concept of ‘Black Friday.’ Originating in Philadelphia, the concept and term has slowly made its way to the UK. Held annually the day after Thanksgiving in the US, on the 24th November, Black Friday is essentially the biggest shopping day of the year, with huge discounts across electrics, lifestyle, beauty and best of all fashion too.

How much to spend on an engagement ring?

We all know that old rule of spending two months’ wages is a bit antiquated, and in fact couples are spending less than ever on engagement rings, especially with the rise of alternative engagement rings. According to research, the average spend on an engagement ring over the past five years now stands at £1,080 compared to £1,333 spent up to 10 years ago.

Instead of a single coloured stone, colour clashing is big for 2017. Dubbed gemstone accents, think an emerald stone with a halo of pink diamonds.
