Location, location, location..

In Midtown on West 57th Street, between 6th and 7th avenues, The Viceroy Central Park is an ideal base if you want to explore NYC but are short on time. Put on your trainers and you can walk to Times Square in 15 minutes, Fifth Avenue in 20 and The Whitney Museum in under an hour. And as the name suggests, it’s only three blocks from Central Park.

The vibe…

Spread over 29 floors, with 240 rooms, the hotel manages to still feel personable with receptionists greeting you by name. All dark wood panelling, squashy leather seating and low lighting, the hotel has a distinct Midtown feel. Plus it smells incredible with its own scent created by 12.29.

The rooms…

Sleek and sophisticated, think floor-to-ceiling wood paneled rear walls, leather headboards and gold light fittings. There’s a butter soft leather cushioned window seat, that’s perfect for perching on and watching the sun rise over Central Park when jet lag kicks in or come night-time a well-stocked minibar, complimentary WiFi and a Beats by Dre Beatbox sound system. The bathroom featuring marble tiling, gold taps and mirrors plus a walk-in rainfall shower ups the Instabait factor even more.

With a fully equipped gym and a short trot from Central Park you really don’t have any excuse to see if exercising really does help with jet lag. If you’re in need of extra motivation the hotel has teamed up with Fit Tours NYC and MNDFL, a New York meditation studio to offer guests breaks with a focus on wellness. Options include a sight running tour, sunrise yoga walk or a meditation session with a specific theme. Think breath, sound and emotions. With meditation set to be one of next year’s biggest trends, you’ll feel so 2018.

The hotel’s Kingside restaurant is American-style diner meets French bistro. And the menu reflects the theme too with a huge raw and crudo bar and main courses made for sharing. Breakfast is served here too from 7am until 11am but the Viceroy beds are so comfy you’ll probably end up ordering it to the room.

Cocktail o’clock…

Feel like a New Yorker whilst sipping an Old Fashioned and people watching from the Kingside’s window side perch. Or head to The Roof, to watch the sun go down over Central Park with a Troublemaker cocktail featuring vodka, strawberry-lime, cucumber soda in-hand. Ideal after a long day of exploring.

Rooms start from £184 per night including taxes and fees in low season. To book click here. For more information on the Wellness Package and to book click here
