From casual BBQ drinks in your garden to birthday parties and weddings, these ice-cubes will take your drinks to the next level. Here’s how to pimp your drinks in five easy steps…

1. Use distilled water that has been boiled and then cooled. This prevents impurities and air bubbles, which make the ice cubes cloudy.

2. Make sure that you only use edible flowers. Violas, nasturtiums, pansies, and snapdragons all work well. Experiment with herbs too such as rosemary and mint while fruits such as raspberries and blueberries also work well.

3. To create a singular filled cube, start by filling an ice-tray half-way up with water. Add your flowers/ herbs face down and place in the freezer.

4. After 60 minutes, fill with more water to the top and freeze again.

5. If you want to create more of a layered version, simply add less water at the start, then add a flower on each fill so you build it up gradually.

5. Bear in mind the flowers will infuse your drink with a slight floral taste so make sure you plan in advance what you’re going to serve. For example mint is great for a simple gin based cocktail whereas raspberries work best in something more fruitier. And always go for a clear cocktail to really show off your ice-cube skills.
