Since launching the campaign in 2004 Real Beauty, Dove has been a pioneer in the beauty industry as one of the first brands to adopt measures to shake our ideas what it means to be beautiful.

And although the brand skincare might come under fire for his use of the word ‘real’ (which suggests that other, more traditional models are somehow not real), his message is always was positive and important to change the way we look at ourselves and others.

But, clearly, there is still a long way to go if the most recent announcement of the Dove is anything to go by. Choose titled Beautiful, the new film shows women all over the world in the face to make the decision whether to walk through a door labeled ‘Beautiful’ or one labeled ‘average’.

No prizes for guessing that brings most women chose. ‘I went through the door “Media” … I did not even hesitate’, said one of the women in the video. The purpose of the video? To highlight recent research indicates that a staggering 96 percent of women would not have chosen the word ‘nice’ to describe themselves. And, of course, to help change that.

So, what could walk through the door?
